2017 Ford Escape – Main Power Production Unit
The engine in 2017 Ford Escape does get some serious boost. The 1.6 and 2 liter EcoBoost engines are not there. They have been replaced with new four-cylinder units with enhanced performance and efficiency. The mid level variant gets a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. It will generate 180 HP. The SE and Titanium trim levels are equipped with more powerful 2 liter engine which generates 245 horsepower. The base engine is a 2.5-liter i-VCT unit and generates 168 HP. All engines are coupled with six-speed automatic transmission units. AWD is offered as an option. The fuel economy numbers are not yet known but like the yesteryear’s model, the 2017 Ford Escape may stick to 22-31 MPG figures. The two newer engines, as per the view of Ford, will help save fuel owing to their start/stop technology.

Even though the 2017 Ford Escape comes with lots of enhancements both under the hood and in cabin, Ford is not likely to price it too high. It would not be a wise step to price it higher than rivals given the steep competition in the Crossover segment. The existing models do not cross the psychological $30000 limit.
