Nissan has been on an overdrive, to make its presence felt in global car market across various segments, more so in the Crossover and SUV. The Infiniti QX80, its full-sized SUV has been quite popular since its inception several years back. The 2017 Prototype was showcased by the Japanese giant in New York Auto Show. The upcoming 2017 version of the SUV has received some notable changes, both in exterior and interior. The engine has also been upgraded for superior performance. This is prudent since the model received the last upgrade 4 years back. The car since its inception has enjoyed a loyal fan base owing to its overall performance, reliability and blend of driving comfort and prowess.

The curvature in exterior helps the new version of 2017 Infiniti QX80 to look less boxy than the predecessor.

Interior:

The cabin of 2017 Infiniti QX80 oozes class, refinement and sophistication. The leather upholstered seats look enticing and they offer solid support and comfort. You will feel the materials used inside the cabin are of premium quality- suitable for cars belonging to this segment. The electronically adjusted seats are also equipped with heating and ventilation for added convenience. Owing to top quality dual zone climate control system, you can enjoy comfortable ride regardless of the temperature outside. The car’s dashboard is equipped with a large LCD touch screen. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, satellite navigation, USB ports and Wi-Fi. The cabin is spacious enough and so 6 to 7 passengers can be seated without any issue. The rear seats can be folded if you want to carry a lot of cargo. Nisan has ensured its top of the line SUV does not fall short on either infotainment or safety aspect, given steep competition in the segment. Apart from the default infotainment options, you can opt for the convenience and entertainment package. This adds 4G LTE, Bose premium 12 speak audio system, upgraded NavWeather system and ambient cabin lighting. This should be enough for the majority of buyers. The safety options in this model seem rather decent and meet needs of majority of users. The 2017 Infiniti QX80 SUV comes with eight safety belts, collision alert system, enhanced package of airbags, departure warning, blind spot warning and a rear view camera.

2017 Infiniti QX80 – Modification under the Hood

Nissan has used a really powerful engine inside the Infiniti QX80 2017 SUV. The car’s 5.6 liter V8 engine generates a massive 400 HP which in turn lets it glide over all terrains even with full load. It is mated with a seven speed automated transmission unit. The powerful engine helps the car reach 60 mph from zero in less than 7 seconds. AWD is the default option but buyers can pick rear-wheel drive system. With such a powerful engine inside, you cannot expect the car to be the king in fuel economy, as it is! Its average fuel economy remains limited within 25 MPG, as per the estimates. While some rivals have joined the hybrid bandwagon, Nissan is mum so far on possibility of hybrid version of the QX80 2017.

2017 Infiniti QX80 – Release Date and How Much will Cost?

The final pricing of 2017 Infiniti QX80 can be around $70.000. However, Nissan is yet to confirm pricing of the SUV. If you opt for additional packages, the cost will surely go up. It will start selling by the end of 2016, as per the sources. Overall, Nissan has given a nice revamp to the 2017 Infiniti QX80 which was getting rather old in last few years. The design chances lend it a fresh look and changes inside the cabin are also welcome. The default infotainment packages are good and you can also opt for add-on packages. Safety is another area where the 2017 QX80 ticks almost all the boxes. It loses out a bit on fuel efficacy but for the mighty V8 engine, that is only to be expected! Despite the enhancements, the SUV will have to cope with some competition in its segment post release. It will be pitted against established contenders including Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Tahoe etc. With right pricing, the 2017 Infiniti QX80 will be able to hit the bull’s eye and Nissan will be able to retain its success rate in this segment.
