The 2018 Audi Q2 is the smallest member of the manufacturer’s SUV crossover family. The car made its debut in Geneva Auto Show event where the automaker unveiled some of its design details. The latest generation from Audi, Q2 is smaller than the A3 Sportback and intended to attract the younger urban car enthusiasts.
You should expect a new facet of Audi design language featuring redesigned interior and exterior styling, as well as advanced technical details. The design has revolutionised from a two-door SUV coupe to a five-door crossover.
2018 Audi Q2 – Exterior Expectations and Luxurious Interior Design
The vehicle will be built on the VW’s Modularer Querbaukasten (MBQ) platform. It measures about 164.9 inches length, 70.5 inches wide and 59.0 inches tall. The 2018 Audi Q2 rides on beautiful 16-19 inches aluminium alloy wheels with a 102.4-inch wheelbase. The SUV adopts a lightweight designing featuring aluminium materials thus enhanced the aerodynamic performance.
Together with the small size, the lightweight design will enable the new 2018 Q2 to achieve better on fuel economy. The 5-door SUV crossover is offered with an elegant front fascia featuring a new grille featuring “egg-crate” slats together with restyled bumper. Prepare yourself for a more striking outlook with striking bonnet lines and a “blade” floating C-pillar. The manufacturer will use the latest LED technology for both the headlights, fog lights as well as taillights. The rear end gets a premium exhaust pipe hence a sporty styling.
Stepping inside the cabin, things seems a bit more similar to the current A3 although with slight improvements. The standard deals will be replaced with an optional 12.3 virtual cockpit display. 2018 Audi Q2 – Engine and Performance
There are multiple engine options lined up for the forthcoming 2018 Audi Q2. These include both petrol and diesel variants. The entry level is powered by 1.4 TFSI front-wheel drive (FWD) engine paired with the seven-speed dual clutch S-Tronic gearbox. It is rated at 110kW and 250Nm. Among the optional powertrains includes a 2.0 TDI Quattro rated 110kW and 340Nm of torque and 2.0 TFSI Quattro with 140kW and 320Nm of torque.
The 2.0-liter engines will be mated to Audi’s new 7-speed dual clutch S-Tronic transmission system adopting Quattro all-wheel drive configuration. Audi Q2 2018 employs multi-mode Audi Drive Select as well as adaptive damping.
2018 Audi Q2 – Price and Release Date
The new 2018 Audi Q2 is likely to enter Australian and European dealerships towards the end of this year or at the start of 2018. The base MSRP is approximated at $25.000 though the German automaker is yet to comment on the official release date and pricing.
