In a strategy that has seen them come up with impressive crossover models, Nissan has really given a lot of consideration to their plug-in electric motor hybrid powertrains in both the sedan and coupe models. The 2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid is expected to be the best in its class since it comes as a crossover with a hybrid engine.
It is definitely bound to give a lot of competition to its rival models like the Mazda C5, Toyota Rav4 and the Honda CR-V. It will be produced in three models; the S, SV and SL models. Here are a few specs about the Rogue hybrid and what to expect from it upon purchase.
2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid – Exterior and Interior Specifications
One thing that the Rogue promises is an upgraded and stylish look. The exterior design gives it an aggressive and equally attractive outlook. From the front, it comes with a pair of new generation LED headlights and fog lights. This is complemented by a large V-molded grille. From the top, it will come with an automatic sunroof but this feature will only be available in the SL, SL premium and SV models. From the side, the S version will be riding on 17-inch steel wheels, with the SL and SV version having 18-inch alloy wheels. Also, from the rear, LED tail lamps and a large attractive rear bumper makes its rear also quite catching.
One of the most notable improvements in the 2018 Rogue Hybrid is its interior. A lot of upgrades have been made on its interior. The non-hybrid versions come with a sitting capacity of up to seven passengers. The hybrid models can however only sit five as it does not have a place for the third-row seats which is occupied by space for its lithium-particle batteries. The interior is all interior with the SV and SL models coming with an option of different interior colours.
The S model comes with an array of features including; a CD player with USB information, 5-inch infotainment show and a four-speaker and satellite radio. The other versions come with features like; keyless section and start, a six-speaker sound framework, a warmed steering wheel, a 7-inch touchscreen, Siri Eyes Free iPhone control and Nissan Connect emergency and accommodation telematics.
The 2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid does not offer much in terms of space. It comes with an overall volume of 61.4 cubic feet and cargo space of 27.3 cubic feet. Safety features have also been upgraded. Some of the Hybrid versions will come with safety features like; rear cross traffic alert, 360-degree rearview camera, drapery airbags, blind side screens and a lane-takeoff cautioning framework.
2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid – Engine and Performance
Under the hood, the 2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid will come with two engine options; 2.5-liter supercharged Eco-Tec unit that will be paired with a 30 kW electric motor and a 1.5 kWh advanced Lithium-ion battery, and 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to a 30kW electric engine.
This entire setup will be capable of generating a combined power output of 170 hp and also produce 175 lb·ft of max torque. The SL and SV models will come both as FWD and AWD but insider sources suggest that this option may actually be available on all models.
