The Land Rover is working on the advancement of one of its most popular brands Range Rover Sport and the prototypes look amazing. The changes may be minimal but there is always a new twist that will make the machine better than the previous ones. The beginning of the second generation Range Rover Sport was the 2014 model which came 8 years after the original version. The actual updates of this generation are expected in the 2018 version which is much anticipated.
2018 Range Rover Sport – Exterior Expectations and Luxurious Interior Design
The Range Rover Sport 2018 has gone the X6 way with a coupe-like version. The idea of the coupe-like SUVs was thought to be silly but the manufacturers think otherwise. The exterior of the latest version of the 2018 Range Rover Sport is amazing. It is set to emulate the niche of the BMW with the introduction of a sloping roof on the SUV. The version will be more on-road oriented than the other Range Rover versions which were powered by off-road movement. The exterior is just the conventional range Rover with sharply angled rear glass, thin taillights, and wider rare haunches although the roof is much lower. This makes the third-row seats impossible but gives it a more rakish design on the rear windscreen.
The interior is quite composed and spacious to ensure maximum comfort. It has been designed in a meticulous fashion that brings out the sporty nature of the 2018 Range Rover Sport. This vehicle has maintained a striking balance between comfort and purpose with clean surfaces, soft touches, and strong elegant lines. The seats are excellently done and are the most comfortable seats done for any SUV. It has a sliding panoramic glass roof equipped with power blinds, dynamic programming, and paddle shifters. The platform won’t be very different from the typical 2018 Range Rover Sport. It has the standard 4-wheel drive but will receive a different suspension tuning which will be more inclined towards road comfort than off-road prowess.
2018 Range Rover Sport – Engine and Performance
The 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine that has been used in other Range Rover models is likely to be the standard engine for this magnificent version coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It will have the high-performance SVR treatment which entails a 550 hp version of the 5.0-liter V8, chassis tweaks, and visual upgrades. The chassis and pounds are much lighter than the previous models due to the use of aluminum on the compact design and this gives it a superior performance and fuel economy. The engine is not different from the other versions hence the weight will do the magic.
2018 Range Rover Sport – Price, Release Date, and Competitors
The new 2018 Range Rover Sport is set to be released into the market sometime next year with no specific date yet. The price range may follow the German precedent and is expected to range between $60,000 to the lower six figures if you prefer the customized high-performance models. The competitors of this vehicle are the upcoming coupe-like SUVs. They include BMW X6, Jaguar F-Pace, Porsche Cayenne, Maserati Levante, and Mercedes-Benz GLE coupe.
